2010 Summer Camp Schedule
June 14 – 18 – Birthday Parties
We’re starting summer off with a BANG! The children will learn how to make simple, fun party foods and birthday cakes. We will also teach the children how to plan and execute their own party (or help the parents plan theirs!) This session will end with a party on Friday that the children created themselves.
June 28 – July 2 – Outdoor Fun
This week’s class will focus on outdoor foods. With the 4th of July around the corner, the children will make healthy, picnic foods. Fruit platters are always nice to have at an outdoor event, so we’ll show the children how to make fruit baskets using melons. This week will end with a picnic for all (children, family and friends) at a local park.
July 12 – July 16 – Pastry Chef
Everyone loves to create beautiful cakes, cupcakes and cookies. This week’s class will focus on learning tips, tricks and techniques for baking and decorating. We will bring in local pastry chefs to teach the children.
July 26 – July 30 – Breakfast Time!
The most important meal of the day includes omelets, waffles and pancakes. This week’s class will teach the children how to make their own omelets, Belgian waffles and a variety of pancakes. This class will end with the children preparing a meal for their family and friends.
Aug 9 – 13 – Nutrition for All
It’s been a fun summer of baking, decorating and creating, but we must end with healthy cooking and eating. Now, that doesn’t mean it won’t be fun, delicious and creative. This last week of summer cooking camp will focus on healthy breakfasts to get the kids going when school returns and easy lunches that they can make for themselves.
Classes: Monday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Cost: $105 per week
Ages: 7 years and older. (Younger children will be considered on a case by case basis.)
$25 registration fee is required to hold your child’s spot. $80 balance due first day of camp.
Dress: Casual. Closed-toed shoes a must
Information: Call 772-335-1699 to register. This camp is a hands-on cooking experience for children. Every day they will cut, chop, cook, create and eat. Strict conduct is expected. Food allergies need to be noted.
Each week not only will the children learn to cook, read recipes, measure, etc. we will also show them how to set a table, eat properly, discuss and expect proper table manners, proper etiquette and show the children easy napkin folding. Our goal is to develop your child into someone who can go out in public, eat and conduct themselves properly. We treat the children with respect and expect the same conduct from them.
Every child is expected to try all foods. We want to raise children’s knowledge and understanding of different foods.
